Since two days I can't connect to any websites or getting options page directly. Enter about:config, about:preferences also doesnt work in the url bar. (The url is also suggesting theses pages.)

I already reset Firefox, changed the profile, cache cleared. Event a full purge with apt purge firefox and removing any firefox files didnt resolved my problem.

If I'm clicking in the top right menu>preferences, this doesnt launch the tab.

The only thing working is passing by the top right menu>help>troubleshooting informations. Only on this page I can replace about:support by about:preferences in the url bar and now I can get the preferences... If I try to enter a url like google.com in the same place, it's loading but spinning indefinitely.

Firefox is the only browser getting this kind of problem.

Downgrading to 86.0 release or use developper edition didnt work.

It's the first time in so many years that I'm getting this. I don't know where the solution can be.

Thanks by advance.

Problem resolved.

This wasn't due to firefox itself. It was a new version of Citrix Workpace App for Linux who seems to make problems like this on firefox. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1327810/20-04-firefox-not-rendering-or-loading-pages

The solution for me was just removing the icaclient package.

Let’s do a full clean re-install;

Note: Firefox comes in three or more folders on all computers. They are;

Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And two folders in the profile of each user on the computer for each Firefox profile for that user.

If you remove the Firefox folder, the user profiles would not be affected.

Save the file. Then Close Firefox.

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Note: Check Both Folders

Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac

Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux

If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Look for, and remove any Mozilla or Firefox program folders. Do not remove the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.

Do Not remove any profile folders.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

Try to start Firefox via terminal window (cd path_to_firefox <enter> ./firefox) to see if that shows error messages.

I tried that yesterday for a while and I got nothing.

That's really strange...

That was very good work. Well Done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem as this can help others with similar problems.

You should let Citrix know about this.
