Hi, do you mean updating 87 to 88? Or do you mean updating 88 to 89, removing 89 and installing 88?

Firefox 67 and later have a downgrade protection feature to prevent older versions of Firefox from choking on files that were made incompatible during an update. I have not tested running a Firefox 89 profile in Firefox 88, but if you want to try it, here's what I suggest:

(1) Make a backup of your Firefox 89 profile: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

(2) Then try the "allow-downgrade" option: Dedicated profiles per Firefox installation

If that doesn't work, what didn't you like about Firefox 89? Maybe there is a setting or workaround for the issues that bother you so you can use the latest version.
