Permanently delete bookmarks
There should be an option to permanently delete specific dates (all bookmarks associated with a specific date) from the list of dates under the "restore bookmarks" option. I want to get rid of the bookmarks associated with several dates, but there is no way to do this unless I can delete the date (or dates) from the list.Otherwise, I cannot delete the objectionable bookmarks associated with those dates. Why not include a delete option when selecting a specific date? Firefox version 92.0.

Hi, the backup files listed on the Restore menu are complete snapshots of your bookmarks for that date, and not limited to the new ones added on those dates. Do you want to physically delete the full backups from disk?
If you want to view/delete your current bookmarks added during a certain period, here are the steps for that:
Sorting Bookmarks by Date Added
First, make sure you have the Added column in your Library window (called up by Manage Bookmarks). To add a new column to the display, right-click any existing column heading and check the column on the little drop-down list.
Next, if you aren't sure which folder the bookmarks are in you can do a general search in the upper right corner (entering http will match most bookmark URLs).
Then click the Added column heading to sort by that column. This should group together the bookmarks added on a particular date so you can review and delete the ones you don't want.
Does that work on your Firefox?

YES I would like to "Physically delete (permanently get rid of) "the full backups from the disc." I have yet to see a "delete" tab anywhere in this version of Firefox (92.0). I would gladly revert to an earlier version if it eliminated the current "restore bookmarks" list. How do I do it?
On the first point, as I mentioned, you need to add the Added column if it's not showing. Right-click any existing column heading (like Location) and Firefox should drop down a list to add/remove columns.
On the second point, physically deleting files requires a visit to Windows' File Explorer. Here's how:
Open your current Firefox profile folder. There's a button for that on the Troubleshooting Information page. Either:
- "3-bar" menu button > Help > More Troubleshooting Information
- (menu bar) Help > More Troubleshooting Information
- type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, find the Profile Folder row. Click the "Open Folder" button. This should launch a new window listing various files and folders in Windows File Explorer.
Double-click into the bookmarkbackups folder. This is where you should find the files that Firefox is listing on the Restore menu. Delete the ones you don't ever want to restore. The next time you check the Restore menu, the deleted ones should be gone.
Firefox lets you set the number of bookmark backups you want it to keep, so if you want to keep fewer in the future, here is how you would do that:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.bookmarks.max_backups and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the preference to display an editing field, and change the value to your preferred number (for example, 3) then press Enter or click the blue check mark button to save the change.
