trunk/nightly crashing tabs on Linux if page contains video
Firefox nightly (trunk) 100.0a1 (2022-03-10) (64-bit) (but previous version too) is crashing the tab if the page contains video content. It happens also in "Troubleshoot Mode". It doesn't happen in 98.0 (64-bit)
System is Kubuntu 21.10 with wayland and PipeWire

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted/Unsubmitted Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
Thank you for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
Are you sure there is about:crashes in firefox-100? "Hmm. That address doesn’t look right. Please check that the URL is correct and try again."
I've tried disabling hardware acceleration but it doesn't make any difference.

See also the "Crash Reports for the Last 3 Days" section on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
If only the tab crashed and not Firefox (i.e. you didn't get the crash reporter window) then there are likely no report available apart from messages you see in the Browser Console.
Maybe try to new (test) profile to check for issues with your current profile.
Searching for "Crash Reports" on the about:support page has no results. A fresh profile has the same issue of crashing the tab when a page contains video.

Same issue on X11. Update to 100.0a1 (2022-03-13) (64-bit) didn't solve the issue. Steps to replicate: Open any page with a video. For example, open twitter and scroll down until a video appears - tab crashes.

Opened a bug report on bugzilla
You can try Firefox from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution to see if it behaves differently.

Ok, so the Nightly version from the PPA did not have the crash reporting. I've downloaded the Nightly from Mozilla and those are IDs: bp-50c37452-9494-4706-bc35-7575e0220314 bp-2cda7aa0-10bb-4d79-907a-ecef70220314 bp-5ba10bb1-2140-4557-b5b2-811620220314 bp-9a0d844d-74f1-4455-8c3b-b7c340220314 bp-fb6e8adc-b39b-4213-8b23-9f9a30220314

I'm using Nightly and have no issues playing videos. I don't do social media and I need to log into twitter. Can you provide a link to a site with issue.

Any video really. This for example is just not playing back but not crashing: https://vimeo.com/567664012 Works fine in Firefox release version.
The video works for me. see screenshot I'm assuming you already tried NIghtly in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-4troubleshoot-modesf5safe-modesf Nightly came from Mozilla and not your Distro right?
The search for "Crash Reports" on the about: support page did not return any results. The same issue of having a tab crash when a page contains a video occurs with a fresh profile as well.

You should start your own thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/desktop/form
Also it is about:support and not about: support
You can also get to your crash reports page by way of about:crashes

You are probably using the Firefox (nightly) from the PPA. It has everything removed which talks back to Mozilla, including crash reporting. Try the manually downloaded Firefox from Mozilla's website.
The Snap and Flatpak builds of the Release version of Firefox are also from Mozilla.
