Hello. My computer died (it's "fixed" now) and I have had to re-install Firefox. I saved all of my configuration files before I sent the laptop to be fixed. I have re-installed Firefox and I am now trying to re-install my bookmarks and cookies. In the past I have simply copied the saved places.sqlite and cookies.sqlite files into my profile, but I have done that and I still don't see my bookmarks when I open Firefox.

What else do I need to do?

Thanks much! Ted S.

p.s. How do I know if I should be using the "default" or the "default-release" folder?

How did you save your data? If you didn't use the firefox help FAQ how to backup your data then without the original image getting the data back will be either you do or you don't. And are you sure you saved those files to the correct profile locations that can also be problematic if you didn't move the right data to the right location.
