Hi Birgit,
If you're asking about getting a code for your Firefox account to enable two-step authentication, you will have to access it from the authentication app you chose to set it up with. On an iPhone, if you don't have a separate authentication app, this code may be in your iCloud Keychain which can be accessed by going to Settings > Passwords and searching for Firefox or Mozilla.
If you haven't set up your authentication app yet, here's a link to a support article that gives instructions of how to set up two-step authentication for your Firefox account: https://mzl.la/3p8DJls
Hope this helps!
On my Macbook pro, I tried to follow the instructions to set up 2 step authentication. I added the authenticator add on.
When I try to log in, it shows me the log on window. I add my password and then it asks for the 6 digit code. I click the Authenticator Icon. There is nothing to scan, so I choose manual entry. I type "Firefox sync", and then it asks for the "Secret" that "... was given to you". There is no secret code that was given to me.
I close firefox and re-open the program. I try again. There is still no "secret" code given to me anywhere.
Please help. I assure you, this is a common problem that most of your users have and are baffled with zero information on this step and how to find the codes and complete the process.
If you are going to require 2 step process you must give detailed complete information instead of short cryptic answers. We only get so many back up codes for log in, so this has to become an easy process for the owner to acess and sync and use your browsers.
On my phone there is the same situation... I won't try my iPad til this is resolved on my laptop and phone.
Thank you in advance for your prompt attention.
