You also can use an image sharing website like http://www.imgur.com for this purpose.

Thank you for the reply, I tried the link a couple of times but again with no success of upload, I ended up with the upload failed message. Interestly enough I tried uploading a photo to my facebook page and it worked ok. there must be a setting somewhere I need to change. (I have checked Java Script) it is selected. Tools, Int Opt then General tab.
