I upgraded to Firefox 5, and now the middle mouse button no longer scrolls, even though autoscrolling is checked. This is on my laptop, a Lenovo Thinkpad X60. Previous versions did not have that problem.

You can try to set the pref ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled from -1 to 0 on the about:config page to disable that hack.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

Sorry, this did not help. After making the change, I restarted the browser and verified that the value was still zero, and it was. But, no scrolling with the trackpoint and the middle mouse key.

Try a value of 1 to force enabling.

Sorry, a value of 1 does not help either. The trackpoint scrolling works fine in all other applications, including (arghh!) internet explorer.

upgrade to 5.0.1 and Trackpoint function is still not working in FireFox Changing trackpoint settings is no real solution as this is causing issues in other application. Suggested changes in settings to +1 or -1 is specific system files is neither a solution for the regular Firefox users. Can this be fixed please.

It doesn't work for me either on firefox version 6 using thinkpad t400. tried the trackpoint hack in about:config, and I don't want to use smooth scrolling nor installing previous versions of my drivers.

Just upgraded to 8.0 and this is plaguing me. Settings in Options only work temporarily. Seems as if opening a new page or following a link causes it to stop working.

Just upgraded to 8.0.1 myself, and the trackpoint scrolling is still disabled with either 0 or 1 for the ui.trackpoint hack.
