IE uses a different version of Adobe Flash which includes an ActiveX control. ActiveX however is not supported on Firefox.

Use these direct download links to download the uninstaller and the installer and download both to the desktop

The installation procedure is as follows:

  1. Close Firefox. It's important that Firefox isn't running during the uninstall or installation procedure.

  2. Double click uninstaller_flash_player.exe to remove Flash from your system (even if you think it's not installed). It will also remove it from IE.

  3. Reboot (do not skip this step).

  4. Double click install_flash_player.exe to install Flash in Firefox.

  5. Start Firefox and go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ You should see the Flash animation.

  6. Close Firefox and start IE. Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

  7. Click Install when you see the prompt.

You should now have Flash in both IE and Firefox.
