Sample data - to be entered in top box: ECK, ECKOH U 081111, b, 40700, 9.75, 3998.04 161211, s, 40700, 10.325, 4192.33

The output ought to be: from 06/04/08 to 05/04/12

ECK, ECKOH U 1: 08/11/11, Bt 40700 @ 9.75, Cost £3998.04

   Shares held now = 40700

2: 16/12/11, Sold 40700 @ 10.325, Recvd £4192.33

   Shares held now = 0
----------------------------

1: 08/11/11, Bt 40700 @ 9.75, Cost £3998.04

 Pool qty = 40700 Pool cost = £3998.04 Av = 9.8232

2: 16/12/11, Sold 40700 @ 10.325, Recvd £4192.33

   Gross 4202.27, Costs 9.94, Gross sales 4202.27
 Pool qty = 0 Pool cost = £0 Av = 0
  Gain = £194   Total gain = £194

Total gain = £194 with each gain deal rounded down Total loss = £0 with each loss deal rounded up

 Net gain (A) = £194

This should be a lower gain or larger loss than (B) below

   - you may wish to submit this on your tax return

Number of disposals = 1 (after combining same-day sells)

Disposal proceeds = £4202 Allowable costs = £4008 Allowable costs = purchase price, purchase costs, selling costs, and rounding differences

 Net gain (B) = £194

Net gain (A) is Total gain - Total loss Net gain (B) is Disposal proceeds - Allowable costs (A) and (B) should be the same (plus or minus £2)

I downloaded a debugger (Firebug I think). Maybe, I should have asked - how do I get this to work? My webpage uses javascript. I have a Microsoft debugger that used to work with an older version of IE, and I used that to get the program to work ok with IE8 and Opera - but it won't work with Firefox.

The sample data to be copied to the top box should be: ECK, ECKOH U (new line here) 081111, b, 40700, 9.75, 3998.04 (and here) 161211, s, 40700, 10.325, 4192.33

I mustn't be rude about Firefox, but why doesn't the posted reply display as I have typed it?

Both versions of my Sodoku progs from www.stonebanks.co.uk seem to work. They use javascript.
