Appearance wallpaper only shows narrow strip across the top. I have tried everything including un-install/in-stall when firefox expanded hiding all the controls and menus at the top. The appearance backgrounds must cover the whole screen else why have photos that will never be seen.

That is how the appearance theme works. The image is used for the user interface area (toolbars and tabs), not the content area.
Then why have appearance backgrounds that don't show anything because it is in the center of the screen and why does the video show it covering the whole screen?

Browser Backgrounds is intended to decorate the new tab page.
When I go to these sites, the pictures are blank. I can see everything else. I can go to them from the link in the email and I can see them but not from Firefox. Regards
Your initial posting here was made thru IE10 - which version of Firefox do you have installed?

If you are using a version prior to Firefox 23, please update it.
