Firefox Sync sees my custom server URL as invalid and then reports an unresponsive script.
I'm trying to set up a Sync server. I have a linux box running the AUR package for arch.
I setup sync.conf to http://192.168.x.x:5000/, and followed the instructions found on this page: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mozilla_Sync_Server The server appears to start without issue, although I don't know how to turn on a verbosity.
On a separate machine, I bring up the sync dialogue, enter my email, and a password. However, upon trying to enter the server (identically to what is above) it will show the red error symbol and ask for a valid server URL. No matter how I tweak what I have entered, the message doesn't go away unless I re-select custom server in the drop down.
I'm not sure if it's an issue or not, but with the recaptcha, if I hit enter after typing in the words, it just resets...
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks cor-el, I've looked at that page numerous times and tried every variation with the port number with no avail.
It seems like the dialogue for Sync is buggy.
