Used to have a plus sign adjacent to current window tab. Lately it's gone. When I type about:config and scroll down to the entries for browser.newtab there is an entry: browser.newtab.blocked followed by "user set" and to the right, what appears to be a registry string of characters.

How do I restore the original new tab function?

Thanks for the help. Could not find this file, so I reset and reconfigured FF.

Restart in safe mode, and other suggestions I read, did not fix my problem. So I did the FF reset, reconfigured my settings and now all is good again. Thanks for your help.
