A shortcut of "Yahoo Search!" has shown on my desktop, the file is called "Pay-by-Ads ". And when I start firefox, yahoo opens. I changed the home page and it worked good for an hour but then it came back. I tried deleting that file but it says that the application is opened. I looked for it in control panel --->programs, I tried uninstalling it but it won't work. Now I restarted my Mozilla and it's ok but it's still on my computer and it might come back as a search engine.

It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or even add / mal-ware. Look thru your add-ons list and make sure you know what each one is there for. Also, check the programs that are on your computer

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder Linux:

  • Ubuntu Unity {web link}
  • Xfce: Applications Menu category sections
  • options depends on the package manager and the desktop environment

Go thru the list. If you find something that you don't know what it is, use a web search.
