Outlook Web Access gives you access to your mail on an Exchange Server.

In some cases, the Exchange administrator will provide IMAP access (similar to how Thunderbird accesses Gmail) so that you can read your mail in most mail clients. Try asking about that.

However, if the Exchange administrator only allows access through Exchange ActiveSync or another proprietary protocol, that is not built-in to Thunderbird. There is a non-free add-on which lets you connect to Exchange from Thunderbird. Please see this recent thread for more information: How do I add an exchange account?
