firefox is preventing me from loading the login page for starz.com (which would verify I have comcast xfinity) in a seperate tab, redirecting me every time. GRR
When attempting to view full episodes of shows on the Starz or Syfy sites, they ask me to verify my cable by clicking on a link to a login page. Now, every other site fluidly loads the cable provider list, where I choose by clicking on comcast, (which is always logged in for me) and then the tab verifies and closes on its own. However, at Starz, when I click login, I get a blank page which has a dropped down banner saying 'firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page.' and this is the link it displays: https://sp.auth.adobe.com/adobe-services/authenticate?redirect_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.starzplay.com%2F&no_iframe=false&mso_id=Comcast_SSO&domain_name=starzplay.com&requestor_id=starzplay . When I click 'allow' it just returns to the original page asking for login. This endless loop has plagued me, and the customer service reps at comcast, starz, the local community college computer collective, and anyone who will take up the challenge. Any advice and support would be appreciated.

If you have turned on the "warn about redirects" setting, could you try turning it off to see whether that helps? Either:
- "3-bar" menu button > Preferences > Advanced
- (menu bar) Edit > Preferences > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"
Does that allow the login to work correctly?
If not, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
Any improvement?
Jscher2000, I tried both with the box unchecked and rechecked, in both my current settings, and in the safe mode setting you described, but unfortunately, the process repeats, redirecting me to the initial page, just without the drop-down banner. I will leave this page up and refreshed, so if you have any other thought, I will gladly try them.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
- Clear the Cache and

Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.
- Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
- Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.
If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;
Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.
FredMcd While in and out of safe-mode, with cache cleared and cookies removed, and even with hardware acceleration unchecked, the problem remains. Now, however, the white screen no longer appears, I am just fully redirected right back to the episode selection screen. Is there anything about my system that would be helpful to know perhaps, or screenshots taken that could help?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
