After updating to Firefox 40.0.2 and restarting my computer for the update, Firefox is unbearably slow. Unusable. It takes 20-30 seconds to load a page and I can no longer stream videos, such as using YouTube without waiting for them to load like back in the old dial up days and HD is most definitely out of the question. It is NOT my internet connection because I can use wifi on my smart phone and things load just fine. This has happened before, but a simple refresh fixed that issue. That has not fixed my issue. I am currently running Windows XP (I know, outdated, but I cannot afford a new computer or OS right now).

Have your ISP check your service.

Unplug your modem power for a slow count of 10.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
