google sign in screen will not close

I am running ubuntu 16.10 and thunderbird 45.8.0

I have a google g suite account and a registered custom domain (dsinfield.com)

I am trying to add the email to my thunderbird

It takes the email address and the password and detects the server settings correctly for imap.

I know the email and password combination is correct. I can sign in to gmail and the browser with no issue.

When I click done a google sign in screen appears and the next button doesn't work. Nothing. No error message. The More options link also doesn't work.

Any ideas?
