hi, the numerous different crash signatures indicate that this may be an issue with faulty hardware. please check the integrity of your ram with a tool like www.memtest.org or https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff700221.aspx

Thank you for the reply. Alas, I think the memory is not faulty. My acer has two 4gigs slots. I did add a 4 gig module 6 months ago to bring the total to 8GB, but that said, everything had been fine with FF until about 3 weeks ago, when it became unstable. At that time, I did run the windows diagnostic with both cards installed, and it passed fine. But, since I did not replace in pairs, incompatibility is still a potential bug, so I thought it was worth removing the added card, and seeing how things went. Alas, FF crashed immediately with the 4gig OEM module only. See reports below with just the oem card. I suppose it could be that the OEM module has somehow gone bad, but I just ran the memory test again, and it checks out ok. I think that memory is somehow involved, but probably not from a hardware standpoint. FWIW, Chrome is also crashing from time to time, but far, far less than FF, which is effectively unusable now. IE11 is stable. FWIW, FF has also become unstable on my other WIN7 laptop (from Toshiba), but not nearly as bad. I think it may be a more basic issue with Windows 7, but only certain configurations. It does seem to me that a lot of people are reporting this problem lately, but then again, it may have been that way for a long time-- I wouldn't know, since my issue is rather recent.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Is there anything in the reports I posted that suggests that malware is involved?

Having looked further into it, I think you may be right. While I passed the windows memory diagnostic just fine, memtest found many errors. Will investigate.

UPDATE -- Bad memory module. Really didn't seem to affect much except for Firefox (a lot) and Chrome (a little), but it failed the memory test, and swapping in a new stick of the same type has solved the problem. I replaced the suspect memory module -- so far so good. No crashes in last 12 hours. I'm going to wait another day just to be sure, and then mark this as solved.
