I'm trying to add a device to FF sync, and it's not accepting my email/pw combination. I'm logged in on my main computer, and tried to change the password, but that won't accept the password either. I know I am using the correct password because it's stored in the password manager and dated the same as the email I have from when I last changed it. It also matches the one I have written down.

That said, I am willing (with some misgivings) to assume that, somehow, I am not using the correct password. I can't imagine how that can be, but unless someone tells me otherwise, it seems that it kinda has to be the case. As such, since I'm still logged in, what I'd like to do is export all my data before requesting a password reset.

Is there any way to do that?

Thanks in advance.

As I've mentioned, I'm already logged in. So the first two links didn't even prompt me for credentials. I may not have mentioned that I tried logging in using chromium and my password was also not accepted.

I guess if nobody has any alternatives, I'll use the last link to back up as much of my data as I can.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Firefox uses the Password Manager to store the credentials of the Firefox Sync account (chrome://FirefoxAccounts) to make it possible to connect to Sync each time you start Firefox without the need to enter email and password.

Once you are logged in to Sync then the signedInUser.json file in the profile folder is used to connect to Sync during the current session. You can try to rename signedInUser.json (signedInUserOLD.json) to see if that logs you out.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Well, I found the file in question easily. However, I'm somewhat reluctant to rename it and have that log me out. I imagine I would then have trouble logging back in, since my password is not recognized, and I imagine my session would be reset. Also, I'm not sure how that would help me recover my password or my data. Please advise. Thankfully, there's no big rush on this as I have access to all my data; I just want to be able to access it from my phone and tablet. Thanks again.
