I downloaded Firefox a couple of months ago and ever since, Skype, Youtube, and any video based apps and services don't work after my MacBook Pro goes to sleep for the night. I've tried clearing history, cookies, etc., but so far nothing has solved the problem. The only thing that makes it work is restarting the computer everyday. Please help!

hello tostyj,

follow the steps:

  • Click the menu 3 horizontal line top right on browser screen and select Options
  • Select the General panel.
  • Under Performance, uncheck Use recommended performance settings. Additional settings will be displayed.
  • Fx55Performance-disableHWA
  • Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
Close Firefox completely and then restart Firefox to see if the problem persists.

That appears to have fixed the YouTube issue. I'll report back later after I actually use Skype, but the mic, speakers, and video all test fine. Thank you so much Arman!!

Unfortunately it looks like the problem is NOT solved. Youtube is still broken.
