Hello,

I have situation that inline images are not shown in some e-mail messages (and shown correctly in others). I have searched for some explanations but none worked for me.

I'm not expert in HTML or inline images for email.

In received e-mail where image is not shown (see attached image), images are shown as attachments. Message source for one image --=-h+a9Z0MgQUjW+PBT0QGMSg== Content-Type: image/png; name="7642222741c24086ae1b9e9a481ff4c9.png" Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-ID: <7642222741c24086ae1b9e9a481ff4c9.png>

If I try to compose mail in Thunderbird with same image and send it to myself, it is shown correctly, message source says

Content-Type: image/png; name="7642222741c24086ae1b9e9a481ff4c9.png" Content-Disposition: inline; filename="7642222741c24086ae1b9e9a481ff4c9.png" Content-Id: <part1.Y5BxfjHX.pPA6zgyM@artronic.hr> Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

I see that difference is in filename="7642222741c24086ae1b9e9a481ff4c9.png". Is that field reason for not showing image in first case? Is it obligatory?

When I asked sender about this got answer that I should contact IT... :(

Do you have View/Display Attachments Inline enabled? Is View/Message Body As set to Original HTML (the other choices won't show remote content)?

Answer on both questions is yes.

Are any of the domains, such as kaspersky, in the Preferences/Privacy & Security/Mail Content Exceptions set to block remote content? Any security/antivirus component possibly blocking images, embedded or remote?

No, if something is set in Mail Content it's set to allow. This is not remote content, it is embedded. On same PC, mail opened in Firefox/Roundcube webmail is shown with images. I don't have extra components in Thunderbird. When opened in Thunderbird images are shown as attachments.
