Since upgrading to 6.0 when I open a new tab it does not switch to the new tab but I have click my current tab again to get the cursor back on the current tab. I want the current tab to stay selected.
After upgrading to 6.0 I have to click my current tab twice to select something in my current tab. I want to be able to open new tabs but have my cursor stay on my current tab.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I started it in safe mode and still have the problem.
Hi,
I am still having the same problem. I have started in safe mode. I am using the default theme. Yet every time I right click a link and open in a new tab, I have to select the current tab again before I can click on a link on the current tab. It does not switch me to the new tab however. This happened after my upgrade to 6.0. I just upgraded to 7.0 and still have the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's driving me crazy to the point I am ready to try Chrome or even <gasp> IE. Please help!
Ok, I completed uninstalled Firefox including all of my personal settings/customizations...which sucked to lose all that. I reinstalled and still have the problem. Please help!
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile:
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files

I created a new profile, selected it, and started firefox using it. Still have the problem. So I went to add-ons, verified that I had no add-ons installed. Then I disabled every extension and plugin and restarted. I *still* have the same problem. I never had this problem prior to upgrading to 6.0. As I mentioned before I am now at 7.0 and have tried all suggestions in this thread and still have the problem. Any other suggestions?
Ok, I am a bit sad to say this, but bye bye Firefox. I have used it ever since in came in what...2005, 2004? However, I got so frustrated with this problem that I tried Chrome. It works great and it's faster than Firefox. So....adios! Thanks to those who tried to help.
