JavaScript has suddenly stopped working on Google pages, like Gmail and Reader. I was posting a link to Google Plus, and suddenly I received this notice, "You need to have JavaScript enabled to use this page." JavaScript is enabled in Options. Non-Google pages function. I closed the browser and rebooted the computer, with no change.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

1. Clear Firefox's Cache

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

2. If needed, delete your google.com cookies here (this will log you out)

While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

If clearing cache and cookies didn't help then you see this for more to check:

You can start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I've corrected the problem by reinstalling the browser and starting anew. If the problem recurs I will keep these suggestions in mind.

Thanks!
