I have a question about Bookmarks. I love Firefox and use it religiously in my daily life. I have FF Sync setup and been using this feature for sometime now. I have acquired a lot of Bookmarks which I sync across work and home computers.

Since my Bookmarks are stored on the Mozilla's servers, why can't Mozilla create space on there servers to allow users access to there Bookmarks? Another words, I would logon to FF website and manage my Bookmarks.

Yes, I am aware of Xmarks and other 3rd party Bookmark managers. Although, 3rd party Bookmarks managers are good, I would like to use Mozilla directly to access and manage my Bookmarks.

First off, your data on the Sync servers is encrypted and Mozilla can't "read" it. You would need to enter your Sync Key to be able to read your data at a web "portal" such as that, which would defeat a key element of the security that Mozilla provides for your data. (Mozilla would need to "log" your Sync Key on the Sync server so that you could access your data.)

Second, that type of feature was never planned to be part of Sync, no API's to provide a feature like that was written as part of Sync.

That said, there is no reason that Mozilla couldn't add a feature like that in the future. If that would happen, I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen as a feature of Persona - An Identity System for the Web.
