Two weeks ago internet sound (and mp4s) stopped having sound. I have updated Firefox, Flash, and anything else in sight. Cleared History and Cache Still no sound I can play flv, mp3, avi, etc and get sound but no sound now on mp4.

Thankyou all. Th problem turned out to be that someone installed a Real Player add on in the Firefox. Disabling that fixed everything.

Have you used the Audio Mixer in the bottom left, in your taskbar (the sound icon)? and place firefox to 100%

Is this with the built-in HTML5 media player or with the Flash player or another plugin?

This problem could be caused by one of the extensions installed on your version of Firefox.
Try running Firefox in Safe Mode and see if you the issue has been solved.
