I just updated Firefox to version 24. When I opened it, I noticed that there were two Firefox icons in the Windows 7 taskbar. The first one was like Firefox wasn't even opened. The second icon was showing that Firefox was opened. I don't to have 2 icons in the taskbar. What do you think I should do? - I tried restarting Firefox, but the icons are still 2.

I have the same issue. Although it's not a big problem, duplicate icons in the taskbar narrows the amount of icons the taskbar can show.

See the attached image below.

What I did was: open Firefox. Pin the active Firefox icon to the taskbar. Unpin/detach the second (non-active) icon from the taskbar.

This worked for me. Maybe it's worth a try.
