Why do you send dozens of update messages and then tell me I am up to date?

I get a grey block on my screen very often. When I say update, it says connecting to the update server, but never connects. When I try to update from 31 to 33, you tell me I am up to date.

I am running an IMAC. I just checked, my software is up to date.

Hello,

If you are using the ESR version, make sure that your version is 31.2.0. Otherwise, the latest version of Firefox is 33.1.

You can check your version by going to:

  • Help (or New Fx Menu > Help-29) > About Firefox
  • Note this will automatically initiate an update

Another way you can check is by typing about:support in your address bar, or alternatively:

  • Help (or New Fx Menu > Help-29) > Troubleshooting Information

If you are not at either of the two versions mentioned earlier, please make sure that you have write permission so that the updater can work, or download a fresh copy at:

And update using the dmg file (not sure how macs work - not sure if you need to uninstall and then reinstall?).

Please note that while you are browsing, it is possible that there are some scam pop-ups pretending to be from Mozilla. Do not trust those pop-ups - update by going to the "About Firefox" dialog box.
