My junk mail is still marked as "unread" even I have changed option to "mark junk mail as read"

In Global Preferences of Junk Mail option "mark junk mail as readed" is on, but still mails moved to folder automatically remains unreaded and I have to go to this folder and mark them as myself. This option was worked properly on Windows XP and mentioned problem arises when I have migrated my mail folders to Windows 8.1.

Can you check something:

Tools > Options > Advanced > General tab

click on 'Config Editor' button - it will tell you to be careful :)

In top search type: mail.spam look for this line: mail.spam.markAsReadOnSpam; Value = true

If this says 'False', double click on that line to toggle 'false' to 'True'

Close window - top right X clickon Ok to save and close Options Please report back.

Unfortunately, mail.spam.markAsReadOnSpam has value "true" and junk mails are still unread.
