Most websites include a text bar. It's obnoxious to have to close the keypad when changing or returning with every screen change.

Hi Lehiatt

Sounds like there could be a Firefox issue but you didn't give us enough information to really help you. I have no problem with Firefox for Android 35 on my Galaxy S5 running Android 4.4.2 with the cursor from automatically going to the textbar with every page change

  1. What version of Firefox are you using on which tablet or phone and what version of Android OS (2.3 Gingerbread, 4.4 Jellybean etc) ?
  2. What steps did you follow, what happened, what did you expect to happen? (in particular a screenshot would be great or at least the URLs of 3 or 4 sites with this problem)

Cheers!

...Roland

Hi Roland. Galaxy S4 with Firefox 35. Your 2nd question gave me a thought...turns out it only happens when checking "Reqesting desktop site" in setup. With that setting My Yahoo and similar sites consistently have the problem. Chrome does not have it when running the same setting.

We respect the website's request for focusing text boxes. While I don't know of another mobile browser that does this it is expected behavior for Firefox for Android.

While your respect for a websites wishes is honorable its a pain in the butt for Firefox users. And why I'm demoting you to third place behind Chrome and Android default browser. Removed from my phone.
