Firefox launches but will not bring up a website and immediately locks the laptop up once the FF window opens.

Regarding the above condition, I have uninstalled, restarted, then re-installed, and the problem persists. It just started happening this evening, and the only unusual thing I did was install a commercially-available digital painting software package (CLIP Studio Paint). The only current solutions are to end the Firefox process via Task Manager (when possible) or to do a hard shutdown and restart the pc. I have used FF for many years and have never encountered a problem until today.

What is your computer system and Firefox?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?
