When deleting a month of history, how do i move the original page of a website to another time period so it isn't deleted too?

I delete a single month of history every so often, but i notice that most sites i frequently use have their first page in this oldest month of history.

How do i go about moving all these websites to today instead so they don't get deleted? even if i've visited these sites today, they will remain in the oldest month.

Is it a cookie problem or an inherent flaw in how firefox records history?

If you are using the built-in Library dialog, and clicking, say, July in the left column, you need to manually start your selection in the list on the right side with the last entry of 7/31/2016 rather than deleting the month on the left side. As you can see, a page you revisited more recently will show a newer date but still be listed in the month listing for July.

If the list on the right is sorted by last visit date, you can scroll down or use PageDown to find the last day of the month, click it, then press Ctrl+Shift+End to select to the bottom of the list. Then you can use the Delete key to remove the pages that were last visited in July without affecting pages you visited since then.

Does that work? If not, you might search for an add-on which will let you list and/or search your full history with every individual visit to a page broken out separately. (Firefox stores that, but doesn't display it.)

good point, that is an option, even if it's more hassle than simply shifting the initial visit up through the months of history (why doesn't it do that?)

just another quirk of an aging browser i guess
