I have heading at the top of my web pages using Arial font and this has been without problem for over ten years in any browser. The Arial font looks fat in FF4. Is this an issue with special coding needed for FF4 web-pages, or could it be that my ISP needs to have their servers optimized for FF4?

How does that font look if you disable the hardware acceleration?

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You can also try if you can improve thing by toggling some of the gfx and layers prefs on the about:config page to enable or disable some features.

Thanx for your suggestions. However, changing the Use hardware acceleration makes no difference.

When trying to access about:config I get the following: "Navigation to the webpage was canceled - What you can try: Retype the address.  ?!?

I've never had to tune a browser previously and if I have to do this then all FF4 users are going to have to do the same to see my webpages as they appear on any other browser :-((

cor-el I was able to get into about:config today and I have tried changing quite a few values (and back again), without any noticeable change. Some config settings are obviously not relevant and the list is too big to try changing each one.

Also today I noticed the Java menu I use on my site does not function as normal in FF4 It will be a mini disaster for me if FF4 is released globally in its current form :-((
