High disk activity starting FF9 (sometimes)

Since updating to FF9, I've noticed that when I start it, there is an unusual amount of disk activity that can last nearly a minute. It doesn't always happen. It can somewhat slow things down, but seems to be low priority.

In previous versions, there were times of high activity (you can see the firefox.exe CPU load jump up), sometimes a few minutes after starting FF. I always assumed it was cache garbage collection and cleanup.

It's not a real problem as much as an annoyance. If I want to just do a quick check of something, FF will not actually shut down until the activity stops.

I was just wondering if there was some change in FF9 that might be causing this, and just what it really is.
