Hello,
please update your Firefox to the latest version for better performance.
Update Firefox to the latest release
You have to do live update in Norton for every Firefox release as unlike most extensions the one provided by antivirus clients for example needs to be updated for every Firefox release. Norton has had their extension updates for each new Firefox release.
Try to run Norton live updates a few times

Upgraded to 26.0 fixed problem thank you
Note that you will need to do Norton live update again to update the Norton extension when you update to Firefox 27.0 which will be released on Tuesday.
I ran live update several times and it did not resolve the issue. Norton 2014 Toolbar is still disabled in v27.0
OMG! I just found out that I had to run live update continuously (7 times in all) until the update fixed the issue.
Thanks
I had the same problem and I use identity cause I can't remember passwords. I contacted Norton.com and they fixed it remotely.
