Firefox is not saving or asking me to save my logins
I was trying out a password manager, and so turned off the save passwords and logins feature in Firefox, but the password manager was a bust, so I turned the feature on again in Firefox, but it won't save them. The pop-up box asking if I want to save them doesn't show up. I tried refreshing Firefox and that didn't help. I tried turning on tracking protection then turning it off again and that didn't help. Any ideas?

If you didn't close and restart Firefox after uninstalling the extension then this might explain why the Firefox Password Manager wasn't enabled. Some actions require a restart to makes changes effective.

Are you sure the other password manager was totally removed?
Is Remember Logins turned on? Does it stay on?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
Using the other Password Manager has likely disabled the Firefox Password Manager.
Is the Firefox Password Manager still enabled?
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security: Logins: "Remember logins for sites"
Make sure you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
- remove checkmark: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
Thanks so much for your quick response! I did not try your suggestion, but I will if it happens again. For some reason, after my post, when I closed and reopened my Firefox browser, the dialogue box came up when I needed it next. I don't know if it will next time or not, so I'll try your solution if not. I know that when I uninstalled the password manager, I didn't get a chance to click on "remove all Dashlane data from this pc" during the uninstall process, so that may be the problem. Now of course I can't find the data they were referring to! Thanks for your help and I will try again if it doesn't work on the next site.

One last thing. In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.
Thanks so much, both of you!. After the last response I did try again, and it worked properly... Must have been the restart that did it, I'm thinking. And yes, thanks, I always keep a copy of my passwords elsewhere.
I appreciate your help... have a great Christmas!
