Certificates delete when I close browser
I am required to purchase and install a particular certificates in order to get onto a government website. I am using version 55 and am not allowed to update the version because I have to keep the version that I originally installed the certificate under. Recently my certificates have disappeared. When I view "Your Certificates" the box is blank. I completely uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled version 55, and redownloaded my certificate and the certificate worked and was showing in the "Your certificates". However, when I closed out the browser and opened it back up later, my certificates are blank again. Do you know what's causing this?

Try to rename the cert8.db (cert8.db.old) file in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to remove intermediate certificates and exceptions that Firefox has stored. Note that current Firefox releases use a cert9.db SQLite database.
If that has helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed cert8.db.old file. Otherwise you can undo the rename and restore cert9.db.
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
- Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Profile Directory:
Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
