The add to home page option is missing from my menu, what do i do? Firefox 68.0.2.
According to the instructions, to add a site to the home page, i should go to that site and then go to menu and choose add to home page.
But that option is not there, how can i solve this, it pretty much ruins my whole experience with this browser.

Hello again Tesla,
It never occurred to me that it's the New Tab page that you want for your homepage - my bad ....
On the New Tab page you can set as many rows as you like :
Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promise to be careful, if asked)
Type in the search bar and look for the preference :
browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.topSitesRows
and set the value to the number you want (you can always change that number later).
Then close and restart Firefox.
You can change the sites that are shown as your Top Sites :
Hover over the right upper corner of a thumbnail and click on the three dots that will appear - then choose "Edit", and put in the name and the URL of the site you want there. (this you can also change at any time)

Hello Tesla,
I don't where you read "choose add to home page", but when you have the site(s) you want for your home page open, please go to Options => Home and choose "Use Current Pages" - that option should be there.
Thanks for your reply.
I found the info here : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-web-page-shortcuts-your-home-screen
It did say screen not page but other then that it seems right.
And to your suggestion, I cannot find it, see my print screen.
Ok, and i now realized i missed a bit of info in that article...
That was for android...

Cannot find what you said.

Well, you will now .....
Next to "Homepage and new windows", where it says "Firefox Home (Default)" : click on the little black arrow on the right side and see what happens .....
Surprise !
Ok and then what??
I tried to choose Custom URLs, but nothing happens after i have chosen one from my bookmarks...
And by the way "Use Current Pages" is not there as an option.

Do you at least see where you can enter the URL of the site that you want to set as your homepage ?
Yes, and i did, but nothing happens.
I've tried to choose from bookmarks, and also tried to paste an URL.
The URL sits there, and the option is set to use the URL, but nothing happens...
And i think this i really strange this needs to be this difficult now in 2019.
All my other browser handles this without any question about how to do it, but here, nothing so far, strange.
After you've entered the URL to the site that you want for your homepage ; nothing happens when you click on the "Home" button (on the left side of the address bar) ?
No, nothing is different.
I might be wrong, but it seems to me, by you latest reply that you misunderstand what this is about.
I'm not interested in making 1 website as my homepage, i'm trying to add a link to a site to my home page so that i can click on the link from my home page to get to the page.

You can set as many sites you like as your homepage ..... After you've entered the first URL; type a "pipe" symbol ( "| ") and enter the next URL (and so on, in case you want more than two pages to show at startup, or when you click the "Home" button).
Ok...
But that is not what i'm looking for...
Hi Tesla,
What is your homepage currently set to? If it's set to Firefox Home, you can customize the Highlights section to only show bookmarks and then bookmark the page you're wanting to link to.
Alternatively if you include Top Sites on Firefox Home, you can pin any of these links so that they won't change or be lost, always giving you access to them as links.
Thanks for your reply :o)
Yes now it's set to Firefox home, and i tried what you said.
I see that there is now 2 rows that will show some bookmarks, but that doesn't seems to help much, or can i some how choose which bookmarks that will show there??
And yes i have also include Top sites, but nothings shows up so far, and how would i pin them if they should show up?
But seriously, why do this have to be so difficult in 2019? In Opera, which i use the most, on any page i am visiting, when i click on the icon for bookmarking it gives me the option to either save it as a bookmark, or to the speed dial which they named their home page.
And also, this must clearly have worked on earlier editions, because i installed this some years ago, and at some point, i did manage to save some sites to the home page.
And also, i think it is very limiting to just be able to have 4 rows, it should be unlimited, i use this in opera all the time.

Yes McCoy, finally, that was spot on :o)
Thanks alot, that was really hard work - haha.
So now that i have this working, i of coarse had to try out the next step.
In opera, i also have the option to drag each one of the links and hover over another and create a folder with more links in 1 folder. And then i can just drag any link and put it in that folder.
Can you fix that for me too??

I'm afraid not ...... :(
In Firefox I only use bookmarks for sites that don't have a proper URL - I use the Top Sites for easy access to other sites.
In other words : I don't know a lot about how Firefox bookmarks feature works, so I'd best leave this for someone else (who at least knows what their talking about) to answer ......
And now you're going to tell me that you're not even talking about bookmarks, aren't you ?
