This may be a three part answer: (1) Default search setting It sounds like this is already correct but searches are getting hijacked away from Google to a different site. (2) Extension check An extension can detect newly loading pages and redirect them. Steps for tracking those down in a moment. Anything that mentions SafeFinder, or searching, or privacy? Anything that looks suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).
