I love screenshot by Mozilla. However, recently in the last few months (not sure) when the change happened, the timezone (stamp) at the end of the screenshot is NOT based on the "local" PC that is using it. I am in EST but it shows a different time zone which creates a problem. Since Mozilla Online is China based entity, I believe it is showing their timezone. I checked the settings and I could not find where to change the timezone to local time. This is key for many users as we need a "correct" local timezone.

Previous versions had this feature (automatically) and I did not have to set it up. Can we have the option to change the timezone please? Thanks.

Hi, where is the time stamp on the screenshot? I wonder whether that is a feature of a particular website since I don't see it in my screenshots. ??

Many thanks for your prompt response. For example I took a screenshot today (Monday April 25th) at 9:36 am EST and it shows up as this ( Firefox_Screenshot_2022-04-25T13-36-58.253Z).

It is definitely not tied to a local PC (but it used to be!).

Now, I find myself, extra step of "deleting" the timestamp and just keeping the day of the week but I really need to have the timestamp to provide proof of a "screenshot" and WHEN it was taken.

Thanks for your assistance.

Additionally, I believe this change was done starting in 2022 and I can not find the "screenshot" Extension that I had before which the "icon" looks similar to the Mozilla.

Here is what used to look like: Screenshot 2021-12-31 at 19-36-04. Now it might be a "different" extension but I dont know which one it was and appreciate any help can be given. Timestamp is key for me.

The one used in this example had a different features as how to "select" the different sections, etc. and very different than the one from Mozilla. I like what this one has to offer but my only issue is the timestamp.

Thanks again for assistance.

Thanks again for everyone's assistance.

kindly note, I am in USA. ALL the sites are in USA. I am NOT accessing any site (outside of USA). This "timezone" stamp is "regardless" of which site I am accessing. It is always the SAME type of timestamp that does not match EST timezone.

The only reason I referenced (China), because I went to Mozilla (page for this screenshot) and had this link listed https://www.firefox.com.cn/. Hope this helps. Thanks.

A datetime string with Z appended is in UTC (GMT). You appear to have toISOString() and not toLocaleString().

Thank you everyone. This is "too" technical for me!

I will leave everything as is with my Timezone settings since it works for everything else I do.

I am regretful to all for their amazing support.

This is my first ever using a Forum to ask for help and it has been a very pleasant experience and I am pleasantly surprised how the community helps each other out.

Have a blessed week ahead.

You can try Screenshot Node in the Inspector to see the difference.

Hmm, this is a problem with an add-on? You could check with its author on what can be done about the time stamp. Often there is contact information in the left column of the page.

In case it's useful:

The built-in Firefox Screenshot feature can be called up using any of these methods:

If those are all hidden, you can check whether Screenshot has been forced off. This requires a trip under the covers:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future. Since we are going to reset to the default, I feel comfortable mentioning it.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste extensions.screenshots.disabled and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the preference is bolded and has a value of true, double-click it to restore the default value of false. If the preference is "locked" then we can suggest how to find the source of the lock.

By the way, I often use this one, which is basic, but has a lot of file naming options: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/savescreenshot/
