Custom email issue when I transferred domain to squarespace

Had website host for long time that came w email server. Transferred domain to Squarespace. I was required by previous domain host I need to use third party email while domain transferred happened. I did to Thunderbird. It worked until the domain transfer went thru and now nothing. Squarespace says all records are propogating correctly.

SS response is "since the records are propagating correctly that means that a TB should be able to receive them. If that's not the case and the custom domain email is still not working that means one of two things: Records not entered correctly / entered correctly but there are other records that need to be added in order to function properly."

At this point, I have punched in so many things to TB settings trying to get it work....

Was in car wreck few years ago and a Traumatic Brain Injury has this to be a very frustrating experience because I do not understand what to do.

Domain transfers do not always go as planned, so the issue may well still reside with squarespace. A question I have is 'who is your email provider?' - By that, I infer squarespace is not it. Having been involved in similar situations, my guess is the group to work with is your web host, as I think they are the email provider. With your clarification, more help may be available.
