The performance of Firefox is very poor compared to Chrome. Chrome is much faster. Both in page processing and multimedia playback performance on the web. Chrome's benchmark score is at least 4x times higher than Firefox. Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
