Hello everyone, forgive me for being hyperbolic but I am experiencing a slight anxiety attack. I'm typing this from an old back up Gmail that I had to use to create a new Firefox account.

I was unexpectedly locked out of my Firefox account on August 3rd. I do not know why I was disconnected but I have reset my password via my primary Gmail linked to the account. Unfortunately, I cannot log in to my original/primary Firefox account now due to it asking me for my security code, which I have not received. I should mention that I do have a slightly outdated smartphone, and therefore cannot install an authentication app to get the code. Edit: I was able to install Google's Authenticator app but can't get any codes, and I haven't been able to find any QR codes to scan or enter any set up keys.

When I do select the 'Trouble entering code?', I am being asked to enter a backup authentication code that was set up during my 2-FA. Unfortunately, I cannot remember it nor have I saved it because I did not expect to be logged out of my account so suddenly. I do not remember the account recovery key either.

I am unable to log in, to sync my bookmarks/data or even turn off the 2-FA. Is there any other way for my account's 2-FA to be temporarily disabled? I would love to be able to receive the security through my phone's texting/SMS service or the primary Gmail that I signed up with, just to be able to log in and fix everything.

I would really appreciate any assistance on this matter as I am worried about losing my data/bookmarks. I had to log out of my primary Firefox account just to make this new one and ask this question, and now I'm extremely panicking that all of my data on my primary Firefox account is gone. I have used my private Gmail for ages to link my primary Firefox account, with bookmarks going back as far as 2012-2013. It does not seem fair to lose access just because I was unexpectedly locked out. I do not want to keep using this old and frankly, childish Gmail account to sync up to Firefox. I want to keep using my private Gmail to sync everything up instead.

Apologies again for the frantic-sounding request but, thank you for reading.

For issues with 2FA is there no bypass possible, you either need a 6-digit TOTP code generated by an authenticator app or one of the 10-digit recovery codes that you are offered to save when you enable 2FA. If you still have another device logged in then try to disable 2FA. If you do not have either of those then your only option is to create a new Firefox Account.
