How do I enter a website in address bar without triggering search via Google, etc.? Awesome Bar is great for retrieving previously visited sites - but please just let me go straight to the site I type in.
When you tap on the address bar, the awesome bar is automatically launched. The "reload" icon" changes to a "magnifying glass" icon. You are compelled to search. If you select to search via the Google option then you may get a result that you can select. All very indirect. Surely there is a simple way to type an address straight in and go to that site - without the search intermediary. For example, I often type in secure websites that are not even indexed via Google. So, no useful results - and now way to access the secure sites directly.

To go directly to an address without searching, type the address and then press "Enter" or "Go" on your keyboard. (It depends on which phone or keyboard you are using, but usually this is the button in the bottom right-hand corner of the keyboard.)

1st.looks like you are talking about an addon, what is the name of the addon? if you dislike the addon, disable it. 2nd. if u unpleasant with the google search bar, very close to the google icon there, there is a small pull-down menu button, click it, you'd see a management option, delete whatever you dislike.
Awesome Bar seems to be mandatory in Firefox Mobile for Android. You can disable or uninstall each of the search engines it uses (Google, Wikipedia, Twitter...) via managing add-ons. But cannot remove the Awesome Bar itself. Disabling all of the search engines does not help - it just prevents search from launching. Still no "go" button to launch a website directly. Guess the only answer is to uninstall Firefox completely.

Yes. Great tip! Type the address; then press "Enter". That method bypasses the search features - goes straight to the web address typed. I hope Mozilla adds this tip into the regular documentation and FAQ such as:
