Can't seem to find a rhyme or reason as to why. Anytime I have a Firefox window open, sometimes I can use my mouse to left click and move the window to other positions on the desktop and sometimes I can't. I'll try to left click and drag but the window doesn't move. Eventually it works again and then it doesn't.

You can check for problems caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and possibly downgrade to Flash 11.2 or 10.3.

I just uninstalled Flash and Flash plugin, rebooted and same issue. This has been happening for at least a year. I don't have any issues with video playback.

I just disabled all Firefox Plugins and Extensions, restarted Firefox and same issue.

I have been having this problem for several months since finally moving off Firefox 3 (currently using 14.0.1) and absolutely nothing I have tried including safe mode, disable add-ons, disable antivirus, reinstall FF, remove flash etc... has any affect. What I have discovered is that if you disable the menu bar, you can move the window by left clicking anywhere on the title bar without any problems. With the menu bar enabled, you have to left click the very top of the title bar to move the window. If you click the title bar portion adjacent to the menu bar you cannot move the Firefox window.

You can only move a window if you click the title bar and not if you click the menu bar.
It probably also won't work if the have the orange Firefox menu button visible and the Tab bar is in the same row position as that Firefox button (window is maximized).

The problem: unable to move Firefox browser around with left click to top bar. I had this problem with Firefox version 15 and found out it was because of the theme that I had installed. As soon as I changed back to generic firefox theme the browser was able to move freely again. Some themes work just fine but there are some that will cause this problem of the browser not moving around when you left click to the top title bar.

To disable a theme click top left Firefox dropdown, click add-ons, select appearance and disable your current theme/appearance. Check if browser moves after reloading firefox. If yes, then you can try finding a different theme that actually works well or stay on firefox generic appearance.

Wow. Title bar and not menu bar. That seems to be my issue. Thanks!

Was formerly able to move FF window around by L-mouse click on the window border at the top of the window.

Currently able to move window only by L-mouse click on the "Tab" of the current page in the FF window.

This fixed the problem for me. Right click on dark blue bar next to webpage tab at top of page, and in the drop down menu, uncheck menu bar. FFox now moves freely.

while experimenting with the solution offered by Gameplay456, I found that (L) clicking on the space in the upper left hand window bar:

between the drop-down "new tab" menu -> and the tab of the currently active window ... allows me to drag the window anywhere, like it used to.
