There is a Sync account under my email address, but when I go to reset the password, the password reset email never arrives.

When I tried to set up a new account with my email address, I received the message that it is "Already in Use". Realizing I must have already set up an account, I try various password possibilities to login, to no avail. So I went to reset the password, as instructed, but the password reset email never arrived (I tried it several times over 2 days). Does anybody know what might be up, and what I can do to either successfully reset the password, or delete the account and start fresh?

Unfortunately the reset feature is temporarily not available. You can follow the progress of the fix here:

Update: I've heard from the Mozilla developers that a fix for the broken Sync password reset was finished last night. It should be working now.

Let us know if you still can not reset the password so we can let them know.
