right after updating to 16.0.2 the .exe launcher icon for Star Wars The Old Republic changed from the default swtor icon to the generic 'windows page' icon. this is the exe launcher icon on my win 7 x64 task bar and in the start menu. removed both icons from both places and re-added (rt click 'add to task bar/start menu) from the swtor folder. each time the proper icon changes to the generic windows 'short cut' icon.

any ideas why this would happen and how to fix it? thanks

Hi magecutter,

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems displaying the correct icons on your taskbar and the start menu. I'm not sure what would cause the icons from SWTOR to be changed, and only from SWTOR. That sounds strange, but I hope that we can troubleshoot through this.

Are you able to change the icon in your start menu, after you create a new shortcut? Please follow these steps:

1. Delete the shortcut for SWTOR in your Start Menu. 2. Create a new shortcut following your procedure (right click SWTOR.exe, pin to Start Menu) 3. Open the Start Menu. 4. Right click on the new SWTOR shortcut, then select Properties. 5. What is the icon displayed on the Properties window? 6. You can change the icon by clicking "Change Icon" in the "Shortcut" tab in the Properties window. 7. You may browse to the SWTOR.exe file and select that as the icon for the shortcut.

I hope that this resolves your issue. Please let us know if this helps you.

Thanks!! :)
