I installed Firefox 36. First problem was Windows firewall blocked it so added it but now not a single website will load. Even Mozilla's own pages will load. The only way I can surf the net is to revert back to Firefox 35. Please help. I tried all Mozilla's troubleshooting guides and while one or two pages then will load when I restart none will load again.

hello, normally such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and/or security software and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

Hi. That didn't work. I tried that. I use Windows Firewall and have checked the anti virus but don't see it been blocked.

Edit: I think I might have solved it. Have to check more sites but in my case I had to enable ipv6, dnsprefetching and re-add it again to Windows firewall. I also chose to use system proxy settings.

I am not sure why as I had the opposite settings for Firefox 35. Downloaded Firefox 39 64bit nightly version and at first had same issues then did the above that I said and now it works. I hope it stays working.
