Thunderbird crash after some time @ asepkcs.dll | UserCallWinProcCheckWow
Thunderbird 78.6.0 32bit crashes after a random amount of time, i must use it in safe mode. I've already tried uninstalling and installing it again but nothing changes, booth 32 and 64bit versions. What i can check?

If it runs in safe mode, the reasons for the crash in normal mode are usually either incompatible add-ons, broken layout, or incorrect hardware acceleration setting. At the safe mode prompt, disable all add-ons, then make changes and restart. If that doesn't help, launch again in safe mode, reset toolbars and controls, make changes and restart. The hardware setting is in Options/General/Indexing.

I've already tested this, it works only if i use Continue in Safe Mode, it crashes if i use any other option. Also disabling the hardware acceleration don't fix the crash.
The crash reports point to a well-known source of problems, Athena Smartcards. Avast is another common cause of issues, which should be removed if you're using Windows Defender.

Disinstalling Avast is not a problem, the Athena Smatcard is still used, i don't know if i can uninstall it.
If you wish to retain the smartcard, it might be necessary to update the drivers, or try the solution offered here:
