Dear Firefox Mobile Support Team, Sirs, I am deeply grateful for your help, products, and efforts to keep users safe, with adequate tools. I use FF on all devices I have, iphone, laptops, iPad... The query now: Few hours ago, the Firefox mobile, on my iPhone, ver. 7, 2018 model, IOS 15.7.1, 256 GB memory - 120 GB full, crashed. I had about 50 sessions opened. As from similar situations before (such errors do not happen often - maybe 1/2 per year), an error message came stating the usual, "It is embarrassing, do I want to Restore sessions, with Options No or Okay". After choosing the second option, Okay to restore all sessions, a restoration was performed. But NO sessions were restored, except that a new tab, empty, was opened.

Practically, the Restore function form the error message did not worked.

I checked the history from the 3bars, History, there is a long list of searches... But there are NO other options available in the controls row in the top there for the History to help restore the sessions. The controls seen are: Bookmarks (asteric), History (a clock), Download (arrow down) and Reading List (a book icon).

There, in the 3 bars, the History choice is as above. The Settings option is with no command to Restore Sessions. A check of the other options also does not lead to a function restore sessions.

Please advise if I can restore the sessions (opened tabs) from various searches and how to do it. I can't imagine there is no way to do it.

The Search history is also available from the empty opened page, Recent history, with the control link - Show all. But as from the above, the history is a history, and not for long period back, traced up to a month, although it may hold for longer period history links....

Similar situation happened about an year and a half, with probably 70-80 sessions/tabs opened. But there, the message was that they were archived. But there was no way, or option to return to the archived sessions. I started/continued then with new sessions, they grew with various searches until today. When the crash happened. Few days ago another crash happened, but then the function Restore Sessions worked, and all sessions were opened.

Either I am not aware of a solution that already exists in Firefox for IOS, or there are misses for such common situations as controls, commands to help to deal with them.

Please help. There must be an option to copy the history (as of now as list) and save it in a file (which to be able to be attached to email and send). Now there is NO such option (on the FF mobile. There must be a function from the 3bars, or help or settings, or the History, as a control/command - Restore previous sessions/tabs. Now there is NOT such a function.

Crashes happen, for many reasons. Therefore the aim is to offer functions to deal with them, safely, for both desktop and mobile FF.

Please help. Many thanks. Stan

P.S. I write here from my laptop. Not the iPhone. For ease. Similar functions should exist (be added if not yet there) for both desktop (laptop) and mobile Firefox. My style of searching (and many like me) is with a lot of sessions/tabs, to which I return now or then. Hence the browsing history from one tab (session) is not of interest (as of now many links but from a single session/tab), but the links from the various sessions. Reason - sessions/tabs cover usually different directions of search, while each one session/tab is for a single website and being opened one can follow the new updates of data there. Chronological list of history shows many searches from a session/tab, which is not much of interest. Maybe a way for better organization of future versions.

Hi

I am sorry to hear that Firefox for iOS is crashing. I hope that we can help resolve this for you. Before following the steps below, please make sure that you have updated both your iOS device and Firefox for iOS to the latest versions available.

As a first step, close down many of the tabs that you have open to as few as possible. Does this help reduce the incidence of a crash?

If this does not resolve the issue, open the iOS Settings app, select General then iPhone Storage. Find Firefox and select Offload App. Does this help?

Failing that, we will need to look into this in more detail with some logs from inside your copy of Firefox for iOS. This article will walk you through getting both crash logs and Firefox logs. When you have them, please file them here (a GitHub account is required) so that our developers can look into this further for you.

I hope that this helps.
